The first person of these gotra was
Khandhalji resident of Devikot of present Jaisalmer district.
Acharya
Manidhari Jinchandra Suri enlightened him in V. 1216. He became Oswal and
adopted Jainism non-violence. He started the business of money-lending so his
caste became Bohara.
Shri
Zahzahn ji Married the prince of Jaisalmer and settled in Bikaner. Maharaja
Bikaner appointed him as the Treasurer of the State so they were called
Khajanchi.
A
few persons of this family settled at Sindh (Pakistan), and started there the
business of Mugdi (Financer), so their gotra was named Mugdi.

Kandhal was resident of Devikot (Jaisalmer). He was enlightened and converted himself
into Oswal. He was doing business of money lending so named Bohra. His family
was named Kandhal Bohara.
Khajanchi is a
sub gotra of Lagu-Shreshthi. Lagu Shresthi gotra is the last gotra of the first
18. Its sub-gotras are under :
Vardhman,
Bhobhaliya, Lunecha, Bohra, Patva, Singhi, Chitoda, Khajanchi, Punot-Godhra,
Hada, Kubadiya, Luna, Naleriya, Gorecha.

Seth Premchandji Johari-Bikaner.
He
was State Johari of Bikaner State. He was President and member of many
societies. Shri Sangh of Bikaner honoured him.

Seth Khushalchandji – Chandrapur
He
arrived at Chanda at the age of 16 years in V. 1970. He was elected member of
municipal Board. In 1827 he was elected member of District counsil. He became
Municipal President in 1929 & 1931. He took part in the freedom war so he
was sent to jail for 7 month on 08-08-1931. In 1932 he was again sent to jail
for 4 months.

Shri Khushalchand Chanda
He
was President of Chanda Municipal board for many years. He was the soul of
educational institutions. He joined Mahatma Gandhi’s Non-cooperative movement.
He was President of District Congress Committee. He was elected member of State
Assembly of the Congress committee. He went to Jail for two times in the
freedom war.
