Parmar Jaideva was the Commander of Gurjar King Sidhraj Jaisingh. Mohmud Gaznavi came to India and at that time it was heard that on return to Gaznavi he would attack the kingdom of Jaisinghji. Therefore the King ordered Jagdeva to get ready to face Mahamud Gaznavi. By chance Acharya Shri Hemchandra Suri was in the city. Jagdeva went to the Acharya to seek his blessing. Acharya placed the condition that he would convert himself into Oswal, only then he could give him his blessing. Jagdeva agreed. Then the Acharya prayed Ambadevi to help him. By the blessings of the Acharya and the Goddess Ambadevi, the king won the war. On return he and his brothers became Oswals. Their gotras were named Salecha, Sand, Punamia and Siyal. The subs-gotras of these gotras are Bohara, Pisa, Kofa, Mewara, Bhalavat, Jogavat etc.


It is also said that Acharya Shri Sidh suri of Upkesgchh enlightened Chohan Salam Singh at Pattan in V. 912. Its sub-gotras are Bohra Jodhavat, Banavat, Gandhi, Kothari, Pattaniya and Chaudhary.


It is also said that Acharya Shri Jinchandra Suri enlightened Dahiya Salamsingh and converted him into Oswal Caste. His gotra was named ‘Salecha’. Some historian says that Salamsingh has the business of financing at siyalkot, so his family was named Salecha. Kuldevi of these gotras is Shri Amba Mata Ambaji.

 

Salecha Says Gulabchand Pachpadra

           

His ancestor Shri Bajrang ji left village gopdi and setteled at Pachpadra. 9th in the line was Sagar mal ji. He had given a loan of rupees 60,000/- to the maharaja of Jodhpur, so he was empowered to collect the total revenue of Pachpadra as first deposit in his accounts.

           

His grandson Seth Gulabchand, who was born in V. 194. He opens schools at Bhopal and Nagpur. He had completed at accounts of 60 years. Salt production of Pachpadra with him. In 1920 he sent a ship of Pachpadra Salt to Calcutta via Karachi Pori.

He was Sarpanch of Panchpadra and had the management of Nakoda Tirth in his hands. Only by his efforts the train was extended from Balotra to Panchpadra. In the beginning there was shortage of passengers, so every day he used to purchase dummy tickets for the train on his own.
