Kothari Seth Punamchandji – Bikaner

           

He was Panch of Rangoon Chamber of Commerce. In V. 1982 he left his business. Handed over to his younger brother and returned back to Bikaner. He was honorary Magistrate and Municipal Commissioner of Bikaner.

 

Kothari Motisingh ji Udaipur Randhirot

           

He was the adopted son of Chhaganlalji. First he was appointed as the officer of treasury, mint and stamp. Then he became Hakim of Devsthan. He had no son so he adopted Dalpatsinghji.

 

Kothari Dalpatsinghji – Sirohi Randhirot

           

He was the adopted son of Kothari Motisinghji. He joined his services of Sirohi State in 1924, there he was Magistrate, Assistant Chief Minister and Acting Chief Minister for 7 years. Then the Emperor of India made him the lieutenant ‘In his Majesty’s Land Force’ .

 

Kothari Shri Gangaramji – Indore

           

He was resident of Nagour. He was a brave warrior and a great politician right from Childhood. He joined the army of Indore and rose to the post of Commander of the army. He fought many wars in favour of Maharaja Holkar.

           

Historian Abarrey Macke wrote in his book ‘Chiefs of central India’ on page 30 “Gangaram Kothari, a Mahajan visit at this time the Governor of Javra. He was a man of considerable ability and JAswantrao employed him as Governor of Rampura and Several other places.”

           

He attacked Zabuva and other places and won them. Maharana used to keep him with himself, whenever he went out of the state. When Holkar attacked Udaipur he was with him. He died to save Maharana.

 

Kothari Shri Shivchandji

           

He was brother of Gangaramji. He was Governor of Rampura, Bhanpura and Maroth. Agitations, decoities looting and murders used to happen all around. He faced them all and succeeded in maintaining peace. Col. Tod and Britishers and others praised his ability and bravery. Maharaj Holkar honoured him with the Jagirs of Khajoori and Sagoria. He died in 1857.

 

Kothari Shri Sanwatram ji

           

He was adopted son of shivchandji. After the death of his father, he took the charge of his father. He favoured farmers of Rampiura and Bhanpura. The public of the State regarded him as their father. He remained Governor of Rampura and Bhanpura in the time of Maharaja Tukojirao II and Maharaja Shivajirao

           

Due to some reasons he had to go to Indore for some time. He was member of counsil there. He died in 1957.

 

Kothari Rai Bahadur Hirachandji – Indore

           

He joined his service in 1889 as a clerk for 12 months and then started rising and became Revenue Minister of the State. He also was the acting Prime Minister of the state too.

 

Kothari Kesharisinghji – Udaipur

           

Maharana Swaroopsinghji of Udaipur appointed Kothari Kesharisinghji in on the highest post of Pradhan of the State, in place of Mehta Gokulchandji. Before this he was the Excise officer of the State. Maharana handed over the administration of the temple of ‘Eklangji’. Maharana was please with his services. He was the Persinal Advisor of the Maharana. When he checked Maharana to gift the estates to any one, at that time many noble persons became his enemy, so they began to of the King, hence the King arrested him and started the enquiry. When he found out the fact Kothari was not only released but also made him the Pradhan. He resigned from the post in V. 1026 and died in V. 1928.

His elder brother Kothari Chhaganlalji was also a very noble person. He took charge of the treasury of Mewar in V. 1900. He had also taken over the charge of the Management of the Army. Maharana was pleased with him and honoured him with presentation estate to him.

 

Kothari Dalpatsinghji – Sirohi

           

He was the adopted son of Kothari Motisinghji. He joined his services of Sirohi State in 1924, There he was Magistrate, Assistant Chief minister and Acting Chief Minister for 7 years. Then the emperor of India made him the leftnent ‘In his Majesty’s Land Force’.

Kothari Shri Roopchandji – Sirohi

           

Maharao Swaroopsingh of sirohi honoured him with the title of ‘Seth’ and gave a farm of 24.5 Bigas and a well.


Kothari Shri Nenmalji Khicha

           

He was born in V. 1949. He was son of Roopchandji. State honoured him with the title of ‘Seth’. He had his shop at Madras named Jawaharmal Motimal.

 

Kothari Chopra

           

The Main gotra of it is Chopre Kunkun. Chopra Thakurseeji was incharge of Kothar of Rao Chundaji Rathore son his family was named Kothari Chopra.

 

Kothari Bhawaniramji

           

He was born on V. 1829 He was son of Kothari Sanwatramji of Rampura. In 1831 he was deputed for the administration of Rampuras District. At this time many Jagirdars of Rampura revolt and administration was disturbed. He very wisely made such managements so there arose peace all over the State. Maharaja Rampur honoured him with Palki, and lavajma. He had many villages in his JAgir. He expired in 1835.

 

Kothari Shri Shivchandji – Bhanpura

           

He was born in V. 1865. Afetr the death of his father he took charge of his father and expanded it till 1843. He mentained peace in the public of Rampura and Bhanpura. As per the desire of the resident sir Robert Hemilton Maharaja allotted him the Jagir of Sagoria and Khajuri Runda permanently. In 1843 he devide Rampura district in two parts for proper management. The north part was in the administration of Bhanpura District. He remain the incharge of it life long. He had no son so he adopted shri Sanvatramji. The British report for him was as under :

“Kothari Sahib has kept the districtin excellent condition. He is a brave and intelligent, an experienced officer in the Indore State. Infact the Chandravats had attempted a rise at Rampura, but Kothariji managed them excellently (and prevented it) It was owing to his tastful management that the Rampura District remained in the possession of the Holkar Maharaja.”

 

Kothari Sardar Rao Sanvatramji – Bhanpura

           

He was born in 1901. He was holding the management of Bhanpura as his parents. The Government revenue increased in his time. He took interest in the farming and Gardening. He was much polite even with the culprits. He used to give punishment to the Dacoits and the revolutioneries. He was promoted to the post of member of the Assembly before his death. He had the title of ‘Sardar Rao’.

His all the parents except his father were Hakim of Bikaner State. He was born in V. 1938. In V. 1955 he went to Calcutta and joined a service. Soon he left the service and opened his own shop and got success. He gave many donations to social and educational institutions.
