Jadaiya

There was a state named Savalakh. Present Nagour and Meria were the part of it. Its capital was City Kumahri. Bhati Kuldhar was the king of this State. The King had 32 queens, but had no son. He contracted so many marriages in order to be the father of a son,  but in vain.


Achary shri Jin Kushal Suri arrived in the city when Diwan heard that the Acharya had many astonishing powers, he requested the king to go to the Acharya for the blessings for begetting a son. Th King and Diwan both went to the Acharya, where he heard that the ambrosia of the Acharya’s feet is very powerful, so he requested the Acharya to give Darshan in the palace. When the Achary came to the palace, the King washed the feet of the

Acharya with milk, and gave that milk to drink to each of the queen. 21 queens drank that milk happily but rest 11 queens drank it forcibly by the order of the king, so 21 queens gave a birth of one son each. And rest 11 queens had no son.


When the king saw this wonder, he was delighted. He went to the Acharya to bless all his 21 sons after their tonsure ceremony. The Acharya blessed them with uttering “Jadiayon be prosperous”. They were named Jadiya. And converted into Oswal caste.

This gotra had 21 sub-gotras after to the names of all the 21 sons.

Kuldevi of these gotras is shri Lodar Mata.
