Gotra Gadvani is a sub-gotra of the gotra Kanojia.
According to
Mahajan Vansh Muktavali,Rathor Gadva was resident of Bhakri village near Ajmer.
once he placed his desire to earn money to the Acharya Shri Jindutt Suri.
Acharya him the way. He earned a lot of money. He became Oswal. His family was
named as ‘Gadvani’.
There
was Pursinghji in the family of Gadvaji. He used to bust-out in anger when any
person jokes. So fellow peoples named them ‘Bhadgatia’. There was Benganiji in
the lineage of Gadvaji. His family was named as Bengani.
Few
gadvani families reside at Roon village and shifted to other places, were named
Roonval.
There
were 125 Gadvani families residing in roon village.Their Thakur was begaji. He
was very weak and was like a skeleton in physique. By chance acharya shri
jindutt suri arrived in village roon. A few Gadwani persons went to the Acharya
and requested him to cure their Thakur. Acharya placed the condition that if he
recovered his health then he will all convert his caste and take to
non-violence and become Oswal Jain. They all agreed. Then the Acharya cured
him. Begaji became so healthy that he could fight with even a bull. Begaji and
all his people became Oswals and their gotra was named ‘Begani’.
When
Bengani families left village Roon and settled elsewhere, they were named
‘Roonwal’. The following are the sub-gotras of gotra Gadvani-Bhadgatiya,
Runwal, Bengani Bhugatariya, Galaiya, Hapani, Nagaarjunani, Bagani, Visani,
Sivani, Bagdecha, Kuldevi of these gotras is Shri Brahamani Mata of village
Bhuval.
