Fofalia gotra is sub-gotra of many gotras such as of Choradia, Shrimal etc.

The ancestors of this family were residents of Delhi. Seth Khoobchandji arrived at Jaipur and started business of Jewellery.

King Karn sacrificed his life while fighting against the army of the Emperor. The queen of Karn left Khodipur with all her four sons. Rani trained her sons and got them trained under a good teacher. One night Goddedd Padmavati appeared in her dream and informed her that the Acharya Shri Jineshwar Suri would be coming to the city the next day, so she sould go to the Achrya and adopt Jainism and convert herself and hersons to Oswal Shravaks in order to become non-violent Jains.

All the four sons had earned a lot of wealth in business with the blessings of the Acharya. They arranged a Sangh for the holy place Shatrunjay. In the way they presented every Jain a silver plateful of dry fruits and a gold coin on it, therefore, these Jains were named them ‘Fofalia’.
